Dry Weather: The hygroscopic discs inside the sensor remain dry and compact, keeping the micro switch closed. The controller operates normally, and watering continues as scheduled. During Rainfall: The discs absorb water and expand, causing the micro switch to open. This sends a signal to the controller to pause irrigation, preventing overwatering. After Rain Stops: The discs dry and shrink, allowing the micro switch to close again. The controller then resumes its normal watering program.
